New owners John Courtney and Michelle Deery have turned this historic building into a modern, chic centre of energy and activity while maintaining the hotels history and character. Interior décor is funky and luxurious with an eclectic mix of furniture, fittings and artwork. Recreating the hotel to fit with 21st century guest requirements meant that features such as double glazing and modern electronics needed to be carefully mixed with existing features without destroying the wonderful character of this iconic building. The owners also found that as well as adding more natural light and new bar and restaurant they could also create a courtyard and glassed roof atrium with first floor open walkway above which is now a much talked about feature of the hotel. This area is becoming a central city meeting place for international guests, locals and diners alike.
